Daily Update Jan-19-2009

Today I did bring a snack to work but ended up overeating for the day.

Today’s Snack:

  • Rice cake with Peanut Butter
  • Almonds and Raisins

For lunch today I met the family at the park.  It was a beautiful day today in the mid 70s.

I ate:

  • Turkey Sandwich
  • Potato Chips
  • Brownies

For dinner I had a cup of soup and a grilled cheese sandwich.  Breakfast was the usual eggs, beans and peas.

I also squeezed my own orange juice from the fresh oranges out back.

My Energy level tanked in the afternoon today.   I also need to mention that my left check was covered in drool this morning so I may not have slept very well last night.

Weekly Update Jan-18-2009

So it looks like I did pretty good on eating better.

  • I ate a healthy snack every day this week at work.
  • I had  a healthy lunch every day.
  • Ate dinner every night and didn’t snack after 8PM.
  • I only had 2 cans of Coke this week (Saturday)

It doesn’t look like I have lost any weight this week. I weighed in at 235.5 lbs today.   About where I started the week.  I need to continue with my weight loss plan.

I did order a new scale with body fat scanning and a copy of Balance Log software to track my nutritional intake.  The software will help determine my Base Metabolic Rate(BMR).   Balance Log will help me keep a food diary and give me record of what I have eaten and  can share with the health coach I expect to talk to from the health insurance company over the new couple of weeks.   Balance Log will also be useful for my Daughter who has Type 1 Diabetes.

On the downside this week; because of the current economic conditions my employer pulled the plug on yoga classes at work.   So I guess I have to pay for them now.

Daily Update Jan-16-2009

Today my energy was good most of the day.   My snacks for today:

  • Rice Cake with Peanut Butter

For lunch I ate the salad bar  from the cafeteria at work- about 1.5 cups:

  • Gourmet Lettuce
  • Sweet Potato
  • Slice of 2 roasted potatoes
  • Olives
  • Broccoli
  • Chick Peas
  • Shredded Carrots
  • Sliced Mushrooms
  • Kidney beans
  • Olive Oil and Apple Cider Vinegar

I got to the salad bar early (11:30) and didn’t have the same gurgling stomach problem I had before.  I think people are mixing spoons and dropping stuff from one containing into another.

For dinner I ate:

Gluten Free Pizza with Pesto sauce instead of tomato sauce.

For breakfast  I had my usual breakfast of eggs and beans.   The rest of the day I drank only water and organic green tea.
