Today I manage to avoid the evil vending machine. I brought two healthy snacks with me to work.
- Rice cakes with peanut butter.
- Almonds + Apple
For lunch I ate the salad bar from the cafeteria at work- about 1.5 cups:
- Gourmet Lettuce
- Sweet Potato
- Olives
- Broccoli
- Chick Peas
- Shredded Carrots
- Sliced Mushrooms
- Kidney beans
- Olive Oil and Apple Cider Vinegar
For dinner I ate:
- 1 cup of white rice ( not the best choice)
- 1 half chicken breast
- 1/2 cup of corn ( not the best choice)
For breakfast I squeezed 8 oranges that I picked off the tree in the backyard. The rest of the day I drank only water and organic green tea.
I plan to weigh in on Thursday and see where I am. I believe I am taking in about 1,800-2,000 calories per day. But I may need a little more to meet my base metabolic rate. My base metabolic rate could be as high as 2,400 calories per day.
The base metabolic rate is the rate at which your body consume calories at rest. If your calorie intake dips below this value you will not loose weight. You body thinks it’s starving so it slows down the metabolism to conserve energy.
